Who Is Dan?
I began developing my interest in fitness into a career more than 14 years ago. In the Army, I became a certified Nautilus Instructor and trained others in exercise and weightlifting. Prior to starting my own business in 1998, I worked for a number of different fitness companies. Today, I am a Master Trainer.
The Wonder Years
When I was younger, I was a very obese young man with the negative belief that I couldn’t change my behavior or circumstance. I was miserable with a bleak outlook on myself and life. I reached a point when I began to seriously ask myself why I couldn’t have what I so much wanted: to be a healthy, fit and attractive person. Once I began asking these questions, I began to recognize that I’d placed barriers between me and my goal. Little by little, I was able to knock those down, and with each one that fell, I began to feel better about myself and my abilities to change.
It has been quite a journey from the depressed, obese person I was. The process of improving my health and appearance has developed in me a profound empathy for those who face similar circumstances and who feel they lack the practical tools to transform themselves through achieving their personal goals.

Encouragement – Not Criticism
Reaching your fitness and health goals is not easy. It takes discipline, hard work, consistency and perseverance whether you are starting an exercise regime to lose weight, improve your health, maintain good health, or to get to the next level of fitness. Encouragement is more helpful than harsh denunciation. Having a plan with realistic objectives will help you to be able to measure your progress toward your larger goal. Your plan should also be fun and satisfying if it is to lead to new behaviors.
Effective Goal Setting
All too often we set large goals that later seem out of reach. When we fail to achieve them we feel disappointed and return to the behaviors we are trying to change because they satisfy us in the short-term.
I will help you to establish short-term objectives that will help you to achieve your longer-range goals. If you stick to the plan I help you develop, you will see the results you want. I have helped hundreds of people to do this.
In addition to my education and experience with fitness, I am also well versed in nutrition and physiology. I also draw on my personal experience.
New Habits
While your particular situation is unique to you, I believe all the barriers we place between ourselves and our fitness goals can be torn down as we develop new, positive behaviors to replace them. Through this process, we move forward toward our goal.
I can provide you not only hope in achieving your goal, but also a plan to do it and the coaching and motivation to follow the plan. I know the constraints that prevent you from achieving your fitness goals seem insurmountable to you now. I can tell you from experience that they can be overcome, and you will feel and look better through your working with me.
